Halloween Parade 2009

Yesterday, Caleb's preschool class had their annual Halloween Parade through the local YMCA. His preschool is part of a YMCA program (we love it!) so the preschool building is adjacent to the Y. The kids put on their costumes, and, in a big line, walk through the YMCA (around the track, through the lobby, through some of the community rooms) while all the parents "ooh and ahh" and take pictures. They also get candy and treats from the YMCA employees who are strategically placed along the parade path.

This is the third year that Caleb has done this and it's so much fun every time. Watching him walk confidently with his class really brings back memories of the first year he walked in the parade. He was two years old and as soon as he saw me (with my big pregnant belly) sitting in the lobby, he started crying and refused to walk with his class. I really should have worn my own costume that day since I ended up walking in the parade with him!! :)

Hannah didn't wear her costume, but she did sport a lovely rain jacket. Can you tell how spoiled she is??

Also, just a random side note, after the parade, I took Hannah to get her seasonal flu shot. She absolutely blew me away by not even crying one tear when she got the shot. Her face turned a little bit pink and she was thinking about how to react, so I said "Good job! Do you want some fruit snacks?" That got a big smile from her, and that was that. Whew!
