There you go, people---the title says it all! :)
I feel like every week this month, we have scheduled a big event that has taken all of my physical energy, mental energy and time, and that I can't think of the next thing until the first thing is over. The first week of August, the "big thing" was a vacation. We went to Door County, Wisconsin with Chris' side of the family. This is the second year we've gone and we have been looking forward to this trip for literally a whole year. We stayed at an adorable resort called "Scandinavian Lodge", which is fitting because we're all so Scandinavian. It was four days of fun with the kids getting lots of play time with their cousins, lots of swimming time in at the hotel (even Connor enjoyed it!) and lots of our favorite Door County activities, including visiting the goats on the roof of Al Johnson's restaurant.
Here are just a few pictures of the many we took...
At Cave Point:
Salmon fishing on Lake Michigan (where he was a champ as the boat was tossing and turning in nine-foot waves!!):
We love to shop when we are here and this time, we found this cute little boutique with a fun name:
At the Gills Rock pier, where is was EXTREMELY windy:

Because I'm so good at cramming a million things into one blog post, I'll go onto the second "big thing" of the month. The second week in August, we had a HUGE garage sale. It wasn't quite as big as our sale last year but pretty darn close. We sold a bunch of furniture that we don't use, plus my sister-in-law, mom, sister, and friends put stuff in and I think we all had a pretty good result. We even had the neighbors dropping stuff off to sell, which I was so thankful for since HALF of our stuff sold on the first day! I kept telling people "Our signs say 'huge sale' but it's not huge anymore so bring over anything you can!!" :) It was also a little fundraiser for my MOMS Club since we had a bunch of leftover items from our April garage sale. Members from the club were even stopping by to drop off MORE items to sell in the days leading up to the sale, so we ended up with quite a bit of stuff there, too. We made about 1/3 as much money for the club as we did in April, but considering this was an "add-on" idea to our regular garage sale, that was more money than we could have even hoped for. After the sale, Chris and I brought two van-fuls of leftover stuff to the donation center. I also put some of the more expensive items on a garage sale Facebook page and sold another piece of furniture and some old collectible items in the couple days after the sale closed. It's an awesome feeling to get rid of that extra stuff that has been lying around or being stored for years and it was WELL worth it in the end!!
The third "big thing", which was the third week of the month, was a "new member open house" for my MOMS Club that I ended up planning all by myself. Everyone is so busy this summer and no one was really around to help so I decided to take it on alone. I spent the first few days of the week getting forms ready, doing a bit of advertising and also making a big poster board listing activities that our club does. In the end, we had a couple current members hang out, which was nice, and we did end up having some potential new members show up. The advertising was half-hearted because I didn't want a HUGE turnout, thinking it would just be me there to give out the information, so we'll probably do another one of these open houses in a couple months when people's schedules open a bit.
Okay, sick of reading yet? Now that those "big things" are done with, I can focus on the next things that we're planning. We are going to the State Fair next week, and Caleb's birthday is coming up. I can actually feel myself relaxing a bit just because the crazy times are settling down so now it's time to kick up my feet and enjoy the last couple weeks of summer. :)
