Farmers Market

I recently realized we were out of honey and since I've been buying honey from a big farmers market downtown lately, I thought I'd drag my kids to our local farmers market, which is on Sunday mornings.  I've only been to the downtown market once this year (but have sent Chris for stuff every now and then since it's close to his office).  I had actually never been to our local one so this was going to be a new experience for me.  Let's just say, I'm kicking myself that I didn't start going earlier!!  As it turns out, they don't sell honey there (it's a much smaller market than others I have been to) but everything else was so amazing.  I bought some veggies (how could you not when they look so good?) and as we were leaving, I saw the most amazing flower bouquets for only five dollars apiece.  I am a huge sucker for inexpensive beautiful cut flowers so I was mad at myself for not discovering this place earlier. I could have had fresh flowers all summer for a fraction of what I would have spent somewhere else!  Anyhoo, here's a picture of the flowers on our kitchen table(since I know you're just dying to see them---haha):

They are in the biggest vase I had in my cupboard.  I might have to switch them into the biggest vase in the house, which is a two-foot tall crystal vase that we got for our wedding.  I barely use it just because I never find flowers tall enough, but these would look great in there.  (To prove tall these flowers are, just look at the picture: they're almost touching the light!)  Also, I have to say that this bouquet was so heavy that Hannah couldn't even carry it.  Caleb carried it to the car for me and he was complaining of it's weight after just a few minutes.  Talk about a great deal!  :)

On a random side note, do you notice the runner on the table?  We got a new kitchen table (new to us, that is) at the beginning of the year so we could have six chairs instead of four, which is what our other table had.  At it's normal size, this table is bigger than our old table was with it's leaf in it---and this table has two more leaves to you can put in, too!  It's a big heavy oak table and we love it, but I've had trouble finding linens for it because all of my table cloths are too short for it.  Well, I finally found this cute runner (it's two sided) at a boutique in Door County and I instantly fell in love with it..  So, now I can remember our travels when I look at the table, which I am so happy about and it really adds a nice touch to our kitchen.
