That said, I was hoping to make yesterday a relaxing and fun day filled with only things that Chris would want to do. Of course, our morning started off with a "bang"---literally (read the previous post if you haven't already)---so that really got things off on the wrong foot. After things settled down a bit, Chris took Jack and Caleb to a local off-leash dog park. Around this time in the morning, we were noticing that Hannah was getting a little warm (fever-wise) and she was starting to be extra cuddly---which just isn't her. By the late afternoon, when we would normally pile into the Tahoe and head up to my in-laws' house for dinner, Hannah had a fever of over 102.5 degrees. Needless to say, it wasn't a good idea to expose Hannah to other people so us girls stayed home while the boys went and celebrated Father's Day. (It was very sad for Hannah and myself because we missed seeing Chris' grandparents. Peggy and Floyd--we need to see you soon!! We've been missing each other for the past few months!!) Anyways, as Caleb and Chris were arriving home, Caleb, of all people, noticed that there were broken and cracked bricks on the front of our garage. This led to a little more investigation by Chris and we both realized that there was even MORE damage to our house than just the garage door being dented. Argh!! No wonder the house shook when the guy hit the house---he literally HIT THE HOUSE!! That will be a headache that I don't want to think about at the moment. All in all, it WAS a very relaxing Father's Day, complete with naps for Daddy and yummy cupcakes:
(These adorable lawn mower cupcakes were made by my friend, Mindy. Aren't they so cute??)
Happy Belated Father's Day to all the dads out there! I hope your day was less drama-filled than ours was but as relaxing as you wanted it to be! :)
