About a week ago, we met Chris' side of the family at Olive Garden to celebrate my brother-in-law's promotion. Of course, since it gets dark outside at 5pm nowadays, Caleb just couldn't stay awake in the car on the way to the restaurant. We thought for sure that he would wake up once we were inside, but nope! This is how he spent the majority of the the meal:
Hannah was being creative with her chicken strip at the restaurant...
Last Thursday, the guys headed up north to start their hunting weekend, so Heather and baby Leah came over to have dinner with the kids and I. Hannah loved hanging out with Leah...
...and Caleb loved hanging out with Leah in theory. At one point, she was crying in her baby seat in the sunroom. Caleb went over to try to sooth her but after a minute came walking back into the living room. I said, "Don't you want to go sit by Baby Leah?" Caleb said, "No. I came in here because it's too noisy in there!" :)
You might think it's weird that I post this picture...
...but there's a good reason. Caleb was basically putting this bag over his whole face to get the crumbs, but when he would tilt his head up....
...he would get crumbs in his eyes!! We were all watching him and laughing because he did this over and over and over until all the crumbs were gone. I guess eating the chips was more important than being able to see....
Last week, I found this mechanical fishing game at the store:
I had one when I was little and I was sure Caleb would love playing with it. He did, but so did Hannah! They sat and played with it for quite some time that afternoon. (Who knew that a 1-year old would be better at a fishing game than her mother?)
And finally, I will leave you with a picture of the Christmas centerpiece that I made last week. Random, I know, but it's fun to have some Christmas decorations in the house so early. :)
