Sandwiches!!

My MOMS Club does several service projects a year and I was trying to think of a new one that we hadn't done yet.  My friend's MOMS Club made sandwiches for an organization called 363 and since they had a drop site near us, I thought that would be a great idea.  My club loved the idea, we budgeted a certain amount of money, and it turned out that all the supplies (supplied and delivered by a local grocery store chain, which was awesome!) came out to be about $3 less than we budgeted.  (Talk about right on!)  We set a date, had everything delivered....and then fall sports started!!  Everybody but TWO other moms had to cancel.  The supplies were already at my house so what was I to do?  Enlist the hubby, of course!  He was an honorary MOMS Club member for the evening and helped put together the sandwiches.  Thirty minutes and 150 sandwiches later, we were done.

This was such a neat and quick thing to do that my friends were even talking about doing this with their kids.  Having the kids put some of their allowance toward it, etc.  I'm going to be doing Operation Christmas Child with Caleb and Hannah this year and I think it will be really neat for them because now you can track the boxes you make and see exactly where they end up.  Such a fun experience!!
